I chose Nepal for this mission trip with Adventures in Missions based on the ministry opportunities there which include, anti human trafficking efforts, earthquake disaster relief, English lessons, and spreading God’s word. These ministries appeal to me because I know that I can go and leave a long lasting impact and not just provide a Band-aid to a serious problem.

While thought went into this decision, admittedly there was not enough prayer. I prayed about where I should go, or if I should go, but did not give God a lot of time to answer before making a decision. More prayer came after the decision. I am aware this is not the order this should have occurred. Prayer came when I thought I had nothing to offer to the trip. Prayer came when some of the people who I thought would be supportive of this trip, were not. Prayer came when I realized I was missing all of the financial deadlines set for this trip- by a long shot.

That’s one of the amazing things about God though. He answers the prayers of those who don’t deserve it and should have come to him before the issues arose. Answers came when God reminded me through a sermon that I do not need to have anything to offer, because He is the one that equips me with everything I need, including promises that words will come out of my mouth that need to be spoken, to the people that need to hear him, as long as I am in his will. Answers came, when God said, as long as I am pursuing a righteous life in his will, that’s what matters, not others’ opinions. Answers came when He taught me once again to trust him with my finances, as I put much more that I could afford into an offering basket at church, in faith that God would multiply it and bring it back to me for this trip. The answers to prayers continued as donations for my trip flowed in from people in a way that could only be from God. Every person who donates to this trip is an answer to prayer.

It is a privilege to show people how simple it is to turn to Jesus for salvation, and how he can turn any situation in life around, no matter how much despair it seems to be holding now. Every prayer said for this trip is a heard one. I do not deserve this. But that is what makes God, God. He uses the undeserving and seemingly unusable. My current prayer is that he will continue doing so all throughout this trip as I try to the best of my ability to show the Nepali people God’s love and his powerful grace which includes answering prayers.

You may visit my website for more information and to read about my mission trip to Swaziland in 2015 here: https://abbysmission.wordpress.com/  I still need to raise $350 before June 5th, 2017 for this mission trip to Nepal. If you feel led, there is a link to donate toward it on my site, or you may donate by clicking the link below which will take you to my donations page on the Adventures in Missions website.

Most importantly, please partner with my team in prayer for this mission trip and for the Nepali people.

God bless you.

Mission Trip 2017

letter pictureDear family and friends,

Hi! I hope this letter finds you all doing very well. I am writing to tell you about a new chapter in my life. I graduated from high school last May and am currently attending college full time. I remain active in my local church and community. This July I will be going on a month long mission trip with a team to Nepal through Adventures In Missions as part of  their Passport program. This is the same organization I went with on my Swaziland mission trip in 2015. For those who do not know, Nepal is a beautiful country situated between China and India.

Our  team will  serve the Nepali people in every way we can. Some of the ministry we will be involved in includes English lessons, anti-trafficking efforts, earthquake disaster relief, home visits, and spreading the Gospel. I believe that sharing the love of God in Nepal through these ministries is what He wants me to do this summer. I am so excited to see all that God wants me to learn through the Nepali people and experiences I come across there. I want to make it clear that this is not a vacation and I intend to put 100% of my effort into making this trip worth every investment that is made towards getting me there.

I will be so grateful for any support you can offer, through prayer and also with finances if you are able. The cost of this mission trip to Nepal is $3,904 which covers my round trip travel expenses from the USA to Nepal, as well as lodging and insurance. The deadline to reach the second fundraising goal of $2,928 is May 4th 2017.  As of 4/24/2017 I am less than 10% funded towards this. If you choose to donate, you may do so online by visiting my donation page on the Adventures in Missions website here: DONATE

**Your donation is tax deductible in the USA and you will receive a receipt for it.

Updates will be posted on my blog. Please consider signing up to follow it so you are able see my progress and what God is doing through my team while we are on this mission trip. Prayer for this trip and the Nepali people is crucial and would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance and may God bless you!
